Tadej Pogacar wins Stage 14, increases lead at Tour de France

Ren College Cyclery 04 Tadej Pogacar used a late surge to win the mountainous 14th stage of the Tour de France on Saturday in Saint-Lary-Soulan Pla D'Adet.
Pogacar, of Slovenia, pulled away from two-time defending champion Jonas Vingegaard to win the 199-mile portion in just over four hours and extend his overall lead to one minute, 57 seconds over the Dane. Pogacar, of UAE Team Emirates, is bidding to win his third Tour de France title following championships in 2020 and 2021.
Pogacar, who won his 13th stage of his Tour career, finished 39 seconds ahead of Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) on Saturday and one minute, 10 seconds in front of Remco Evenepoel of Belgium. Carlos Rodriguez of Spain and Giulio Ciccone of Italy finished the stage in fourth and fifth places.
Evenepoel resides in third place at two minutes, 22 seconds behind Pogacar for the yellow jersey. He fell from second place to third overall after losing 70 seconds on the day.
